Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary,
with its 777 sq. km. lies 2200 m above sea level.
It is home to elephants, tigers, leopards, bison,
antelopes. Wild boars and a wide variety of birds.
Spices are defined as "a strongly
flavored or aromatic substance of vegetable origin,
obtained from tropical plants. A spice is a dried
seed, fruit, root, bark or vegetative substance used
in nutritionally insignificant quantities as a food
additive for the purpose of flavoring and sometimes
as a preservative by killing or preventing the growth
of harmful bacteria.
